I hate to sound pessimistic here, but I don’t think being on the road for the postseason should be the biggest concern for the UB Basketball team. Perhaps some basketball lessons are in order?
The former Nebraska quarterback became the new head coach for UB’s football team earlier this month. Gill was a very successful football player and may be in for a shock when he witnesses the losses that will almost inevitably accompany next season.
While Gill was 28-2 and a Hiesman Trophy finalist during his career with Nebraska, he is coming to a 10-69 (since moving to Division I-A) Bulls team with no winning seasons. However, Gill seems confident that he will be able to revive the team.
Turner Gill, who was part of three national championships as a coach at the University of Nebraska and a Heisman Trophy finalist as a player, agreed to a five-year contract to become the 23rd head football coach at the University at Buffalo today. Financial terms, by university policy, were not disclosed.
